It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here. To all Huawei Nova 2i owners, or those who are planning to get one, rejoice! A major update for the device has just arrived. In our full review of the Nova 2i, one main issue we found with it is that it lacks a face unlock feature. Something that was already present in its major competitors like the Vivo V7 and the OPPO F5. Unlike iPhone X’s Face ID, the facial recognition technology that most midrange Android devices use isn’t really rocket science and it doesn’t require a special hardware to work. The Huawei Nova 2i utilizes the front camera to read your face and recognize that it’s you’re the owner of the device. And judging by how long Huawei took to have this feature available, you can sure expect that it works well. To add to that, the new update also includes a new feature called Lens AR. This utilizes the dual camera’s capability to separate the subject from the background and offer different effects and background options other than the Bokeh mode. The update also includes other security updates and it has a total size of 805MB. You can head on to your device’s settings and update straightaway. Post navigation
